News & events 1999

Far away in Finland, in their Christmas party,
the South-East Spaniel Club, of which I'm a member,
awarded Will the Best Puppy and the Best Junior challenge trophies
for his achievements in the show rings in 1999.

On Sunday, November 14th, Iina gave birth to three black bitch puppies.
The puppies, the mother, and hopefully the breeder are doing just fine.

So that Will would not feel lonely while his mother is in Finland,
the Hanson family were so kind as to let me have
my other boy Oliver to stay with us to keep company to Will.
The boys are having fun, and while we are out on our walks,
the boys get very admiring looks from passers-by.
No wonder, two gorgeous males walking with style and heads up high!

The vet confirmed that Iina is indeed going to have puppies,
sometime in mid-November. So, she travelled to Finland
to her breeder to give birth hopefully to a nice litter.

Will also did well in the Bundessieger show in Dortmund, Germany.
He won the solid cocker junior class with the qualification Excellent,
the judge was George Caddy (Ouaine).

All three of us - myself, Iina & Will - have returned
back to Belgium from our well deserved holiday in Finland.
Also, Iina has been mated in mid-September to Cardamine Limerick.

Will has now changed into the junior class and
in his second show got his first CAC in Finland.

At the moment Walking Shadow's As You Like It
enjoys his stay in his other home country, Finland.
While I'm working, he's having fun at Kennel Sirkiss,
sharing the playground with his half-sister Bébé
(Xiru du Domaine d'Haïsha).
He also made his first appearance in the Finnish show rings
being BOB puppy in Mikkeli on 25.7.1999,
finishing as BIS-4 puppy in an all breed show.
The previous weekend he was BOB puppy in Liége, Belgium.
Unfortunately we could not stay for the BIS puppy
because we had to catch our plane to Finland.

In memoriam: Sheerclever Wicked Thoughts (1996 - 1999)

One sunny and warm Friday in the beginning of July
was a very gloomy day for me.
I lost my younger bitch Juni through a sad accident.
She will be greatly missed by me, her mother and half-brother.

Walking Shadow's As You Like It
was again BOB puppy in Leuven, Belgium, on 12.6.1999.
The breed judge was Rudy Feyaerts (B).
At the end of the day he was chosen as BIS-3 male puppy.

Walking Shadow's As You Like It ("Will")
started his show career on 23.5.1999 by being
Best In Show Puppy
in the Cocker Club Deutschland's
10th anniversary show in Bramsche, Germany.
The awarding judge was Laurent Pichard (CH).
On the same day his father, Sirkiss Red Velvet,
retired from show rings by being BOB veteran in Helsinki, Finland.

Walking Shadow's As You Like It continued his show career
on 29.5.1999 by being Best In Show Puppy out of 30 puppies
at the Dutch Spaniel Club Championship Show
in De Bilt, the Netherlands.
The judge giving him the honours was Keith Costello (GB).
The following day in the Brussels show
he was again best male puppy,
but in this show no BOB or BIS puppy is chosen.

Antwerp, Belgium, 11.4.1999:
Sirkiss Trademark ("Oliver") was awarded the Brabo Junior Prize
by being the best junior cocker male.
Sheerclever Wicked Game ("Iina") was awarded the res-CACIB
while her very good friend and soul mate
My Fantasy vom Rauhen Holz took the CACIB.

Aalst, Belgium, 13.3.1999:
Sheerclever Wicked Thoughts ("Juni") was the best bitch
with her very first CACIB. The judge was G. Kamphuis (NL).
She had been awarded the res-CACIB in Mechelen, Belgium,
in August 1998 by Hilda Parkinson.
Since the winner of the CACIB happened to be her mother Iina,
already an International Champion,
this CACIB will be in due time transferred to Juni by the FCI.
